What causes droopy eyelids?
The medical term for droopy eyelids is ptosis, a condition that occurs when the muscles above your eye (a.k.a. the levator muscles) get stretched and fail to fully lift the eyelids. The result? Sagging eyelids that droop downward so much that they cover a portion of your eyes.
Common causes for ptosis include:
- Certain medications
- An eye injury
- Aging
How does Upneeq work?
Specifically designed to treat ptosis, Upneeq is formulated with a 0.1% oxymetazoline hydrochloride ophthalmic solution and is considered an alpha agonist (a type of drug that triggers muscle contraction and vasoconstriction). With just one drop per day, Upneeq helps the muscles in the eyes contract, thus leaving eyelids in an elevated position. Without surgery, you can restore your complete field of vision, lift your eyelids, and give your eyes an alert, refreshed appearance.
How long do the results last?
Results from the first dose of Upneeq can appear in as little as five minutes! However, most patients will notice a difference within two hours with results lasting up to eight hours. Upneeq is intended to be used once per day.
What are the benefits of Upneeq?
There is a reason why people love Upneeq! Clinical studies show the following results….
- Eighty-four percent of patients had some form of improvement with lifting the eyelids.
- Seventy-four percent of patients showed more than a 50% improvement.
- Almost 90 percent of patients had some form of improvement with their upper field of vision.
- Forty percent of patients had at least a 50 percent improvement 14 days after using drops.
Is Upneeq safe?
In several clinical trials, FDA-approved Upneeq was proven to be a safe and effective treatment when used correctly. Side effects are rare but may include eye inflammation, eye redness, blurred vision, minor pain, eye irritation, and headache.
